Girls Gymnastics

Introduction

The Girls Recreational Program at IK Gymnastics offers a large variety of highly structured, non-competitive classes for girls of all ages. Each event rotation incorporates multiple stations that work specific, fundamental skills while still providing students the maximum amount of repetitions. This program is performance-based, with each level of advancement building off of skills introduced in previous levels. Our goal at IK is to provide each child with a stimulating educational environment with the best instruction possible. We achieve this by keeping our instructors current with evolving trends in gymnastics and actively adapting the program to meet the evolving needs of our recreational athletes. Gymnastics is a sport that has been our life's work and if you are interested to learn more, let us answer the question for you:

Class Registration

Please note, that the listed price reflects the per month tuition which depends on how many times the actual class is held that month. In addition, we require a nonrefundable annual registration fee of $120 per participant (or $150 per family). During Regular Season, students are automatically re-enrolled in the same class from month to month for your convenience. The tuition for the upcoming month is due on the 20th and it will automatically be charged to your card on file. Tuition must be paid in full at the time of registration. If there is no register or wait list link next to the class, the class and wait list may be full. If you have difficulty registering for a specific class, please call the front desk.

Girls Beginner 1 (5yrs +) Classes

Girls Beginner 1 is for girls who want to learn the basics of gymnastics as well as for those who have some prior tumbling experience. Students will gain the strength, balance, and flexibility required for learning more advanced skills. Girls Gymnastics Program

Our classes are organized as three levels of Beginner followed by three levels of Intermediate. Each level has specific skill goals for each of the four events (floor, vault, bars, and beam).

Assessments

Students advance to the next level either by coaches recommendation or whole-class testing. Assessment rubrics are available to coaches for on-going evaluation from class-to-class. Coaches will notify the front desk anytime they recommend a child to move up to the next level. Benchmark testing of whole classes is also typically done in November, February, and July.

Due to time constraints between classes, coaches will not be available to provide additional details concerning your child's progress between classes. However, a more in-depth explanation of a student’s results may be requested by emailing info@ikgym.com.

We are unable to fulfill individual evaluation requests to help ensure our assessments are consistent and do not interfere with other student's regularly scheduled classes.
